Article 55 of the LEP states that “The holder of a permit may not identify the institution or a facility made available to the institution under any name other than that indicated on its permit.”
It has been observed that:
- The name used by the College to identify the institution does not match the one authorized on the permit. Specifically, the name displayed is “Collège national de science et technologie” instead of “Collège national de science et technologie inc.”, in the following locations:
- On the website www.collegenational.ca
- In brochures available on the website for the programs Network Management (ACS), Entrepreneurship in Technology (ACS), and Project Management (ACS)
- On social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube)
- In the educational services contract
- Other examples:
- On the homepage of the website, the names “Collège national de science et technologie” and “Collège National” used by the College to identify its facility do not match the authorized name on the permit.
- The name “Collège National – Montréal Campus” used in the “Services” tab under the “Montréal Campus” section is not the one authorized on the permit.
- In the “Services” tab under the “About” section, it is stated that “Le collège National de Science est un collège privé […]”, which is not compliant.
Expected Confirmation:
Your institution must confirm that it will exclusively use the name “Collège national de science et technologie inc.” in all official documents and advertising materials, including the website.
However, if you wish to change the institution’s name, you may submit a “permit modification request for a name change” at any time. Additionally, if you intend to use a different name to identify a facility, the same procedure must be followed.
